Chelsea’s misery do not seem to be ending soon and on top of their horrible performances, they have been in the news constantly for a lot of other reasons and the Telegraph might have added another insult to injury to scare Chelsea fans as they have claimed that Chelsea could lose more than £100 million if their horrible season continues and they end the season on a very new low as they have been doing so far.
The Blues recorded their seventh Premier League defeat of the campaign against Stoke City on Saturday and this makes it their seventh defeat in eleven matches so far this season in the English Premier League, and fans are starting to see that the club may not qualify for next season’s Champions League.
According to the Telegraph, failure to do that would cost Chelsea around £40 million, while owner Roman Abramovich would have to pay an estimated £10 million compensation if he chooses to sack manager Jose Mourinho, as per the report.
In addition, if Mourinho was sacked then his replacement would surely demand significant transfer funds to work with in order to improve the squad, the newspaper claims.
Shockingly, Chelsea have conceded 23 goals in the Premier League this season, with only Sunderland, Norwich City and Bournemouth conceding more and this is coming on the back of last season where the same team ended up being the English premier League title holders.
Maybe the club owner will keep faith in his manager, maybe the club will get better, it all remains to be seen.
