Deal Done: Chelsea Agrees Deal With Club For The Transfer Of Star Defensive Midfielder

According to Turkish website AMK Chelsea and Besiktas has reached an agreement to let John Obi Mikel join the Turkish side on loan in January. Football agent Mesrun Izzet claimed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho blocked the transfer of John Obi Mikel to Turkish club Besiktas at the 11th hour.

Izzet was involved in the deal involving Mikel’s transfer to Besiktas before Mourinho blocked the move.

The man from Nigeria struggled to get enough play time in Mourinho’s title-winning squad last season and was mostly used when Chelsea were to hang on to a lead.

He was not given many starts even though Jose Mourinho rates him highly. This trend has continued this season as well. Chelsea have suffered a stuttering start of the season yet Mikel has appeared just once as a late substitute against West Brom which Chelsea won 3-2.
